Why did Emcore (EMKR) drop 8% today? Yahoo! Finance doesn’t have any news today?

It’s a volatile stock but that’s an unusually hard fall. Would appreciate any news or links to news.

Why are you even asking this question? The daily Standard Deviation of this stock is about 8%. In other words, about 2/3 of the time it goes up or down within 8% +/- each day.
Today’s 8% loss is “NORMAL” for this stock.
Perhaps your investment strategy has utterly failed you. You are taking more risk than you can tolerate. Perhaps you would be happier with FSELX. Click to see the comparison.&

What is your tolerance for risk?
Are you willing to lose 50% of your money or 5% of your money?
Decide how much you want to lose and set orders to sell for all your stocks.
For example if you buy a stock at $100 and your tolerance for risk is 20% then you place an order to sell in case your stock goes down to $80
That way you don’t have to worry about 8% drops in one day or losing all your money like those Enron shareholders.
If you are picking the stocks on your own without the help of a Financial Adivsor you are asking for trouble.
